Ukrainian PE & VC Summit 2024: Meet the Military Tech Panel

One week till PE & VC Summit, our biggest meetup of the year. Today, we want to present you with a panel that lately has taken a special place in Ukrainian hearts — Military tech. Would it be a driver industry for Ukraine's economy? How to invest in it? What are the opportunities, threats, cases, and developments? Ask no more, we have the right people for that. Meet the speakers.


  • Tetiana Honcharenko. Founder and CEO at Founders League.


Tetiana leads an investment and multifamily office, dedicated to identifying, funding, and nurturing projects globally across various stages and sectors. She boasts over five years of experience in navigating private and corporate investment landscapes.


  • Viktorija Trimbel. Managing Director at Coinvest Capital.


Viktorija manages the first and largest fund in Lithuania, fully accredited to invest in defense startups. Also, she is a Board member of the Lithuanian Business Angel Network, Capital Markets, and Global Lithuanian Leaders.


  • Mikolaj Firlej. Co-founder and general partner of Expeditions Fund.


Mikolaj is engaged in specialized VC fund investing in European early-stage tech companies in the nexus of AI, security, and defense. He is also affiliated with the Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI. Moreover, Mikolaj earned a doctorate from the University of Oxford for a thesis on the emerging regulatory standards over the use of AI-enhanced and autonomous weapon systems in the US Department of Defense.


  • Jan-Erik Saarinen. Co-founder of Double Tap Investments.


Jan-Erik co-founded an investment fund with a focus solely on Ukrainian Defense tech startups and has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial sector. In the past, he served as a soldier in Africa and as a private security contractor in Bosnia.


  • Denys Gurak. Co-Founding Partner at MITS Capital.


MITS is the first full-service defense technology accelerator in Ukraine. He is also a Senior Fellow at The Potomac Foundation, a Washington DC-based strategic think-tank that has been helping the countries of Eastern Europe and the post-Soviet states to integrate with the West and adapt to NATO standards. Besides, Denys is the CEO and Founder of the 3D bioprinting company A.D.A.M., which will help treat wounded Ukrainians.
